This Chardonnay is fermented in stainless steel tanks then aged in partial new oak for 10 months so it has crisp minerality framed by lightly toasted oak texture. It has a lovely stone fruit nose with white peach, apricot and nectarine, then flint and fresh Hawthorne with hints of vanilla and hazelnut. On the palate the intense minerals lead with the creamy oak playing a support role. Meyer lemon, lime, white peach, yellow apples and green pears are decorated by sweet oak spices of cinnamon and nutmeg, which add extra layers and depth as the wine opens. The finish is nervy and mineral driven with enjoyable complexity. Highly recommended!
