The 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape Vieilles Vignes checks in as 80% Grenache, 15% Syrah, and the rest Mourvèdre that's aging most in foudre. It offers a deeper ruby/plum color as well as a great nose of ripe black cherry and currant fruits supported by lots of licorice, black olive, and peppery aromas and flavors. Rich, medium to full-bodied, and beautifully textured, with sweet tannins, it's going to be well worth seeking out.
