My favorite food friendly wine with firm tannins and enough acidity to age for years and years to come. Made in an Italian Tuscan style taught to me by my Grandfather Guido. Think Super Tuscan. The Roberto consists of a field blend of Old Vine Zinfandel and Petite Sirah from several Old Vine vineyards in St. Helena and Rutherford. This is an expressive, well balanced, raspberry-scented wine. The 2014 has strong hints of soft white rose petal on the front end which evolve nicely into smoky tobacco earthy seductive cherry flavors on the mid to back palate. This wine can be enjoyed with red meats, pasta dishes as well as chicken and fish due to its classic Pinot Noir floral notes. Limited, only 8 barrels of the 2014 produced.
