Flinty mineral notes, hazelnut, chamomile and a whiff of hawthorn form the nose. On the elegant palate, savory mineral notes suggesting saline and tangy acidity accompany apricot and bitter almond.

A fresh and balanced white, this is light- to medium-bodied and creamy on the palate, offering a stony mineral overtone and a delicate mesh of Gala apple, orchard blossom, blanched almond and fleur de sel notes. Drink now through 2025. 2,500 cases made, 250 cases imported.

The 2018 Soave Classico Staforte is rich and highly expressive, showing dried peaches and mangos and hints of almond and vanilla bean. It's deeply textural, seeming almost oily and weighty at times, yet supported by salty minerals and brisk acids with ripe orchard fruits. There's a good amount of structure here, as the Staforte cleans up nicely through the finale, leaving a hint of sour citrus. This is beautiful today, but it should also do well with short-term cellaring.
