The 2021 Grenache Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard is one of the more ethereal and aromatic wines in this range. Sweet dried cherry, mint, star anise and kirsch all waft from the glass. This opens nicely in the glass, but readers should expect a lighter style vis-a-vis some of the other 2021s.

Lightly hued, with a Tavel rosé-like color, the 2021 Grenache Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard (100% Grenache) has a perfumed nose of caramelized cherries, dried strawberries, and savory herbs and spices. It's nicely textured and has a medium-bodied, balanced style and a clean finish. It's more rosé than Grenache, but it's certainly balanced and charming.
