This is a bright, pure-fruited blend of 45% Syrah, 35% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre. Youthful and unadulterated, it offers juicy, uncomplicated blackberrry, plum and cassis flavors lifted by a spray of crushed stone and spry acidity. Soft and easy in tannins, this wine should be enjoyed young.

Bright and juicy, with fun red currant and damson plum notes leading the way, while streaks of anise, savory and garrigue filter through. Gains depth through the finish as it airs in the glass. Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre. Drink now through 2027. 2,000 cases made, 200 cases imported.

Befitting a producer based in the Northern Rhône, Colombo's 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape les Bartavelles contains 45% Syrah, with the balance a blend of Grenache (35%) and Mourvèdre (20%). It's full-bodied, but not overly concentrated, with red raspberry and strawberry notes alongside a touch of garrigue underlined by darker notes of plums and black olives. Fruit-forward and easy to drink, it's a decent effort for near-term enjoyment.
