Rich tones of red plum and cherry meld with hints of thyme and moss. It's rounded and supple in feel, with glossy tannins and bright acidity supporting the plush fruit tones.

The 2015 Merlot also has 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 20 months in French oak, 28% new. It comes in at 13.4% alcohol. This is mostly along the same lines as the 2014, also reviewed, but it doesn't seem as perceptibly full in the mouth. Thanks largely to the extra year of youth, it is a bit tighter on the finish and has a fresher feel. I liked the 2014 slightly better, but it's not a big difference. This was sourced from the winery's 1999 South Harbor vineyard.
