Hand picked in the early morning to retain maximum freshness, Hartenberg`s Chardonnay harmonises the richness of oak and vanilla with light bursts of citrus fruit. Five different clones are grown in the vineyard and three strains of yeast in the winery bring complexity to this buttery wine, while lees stirring adds even more depth.
Pairs well with cream based foods, smoked chicken or duck, seared tuna with olive oil, lime juice and black pepper.

With an open-knit nose, the 2017 Chardonnay wafts from the glass with yellow apple skin and Bosc pear, with a focus on citrus and with elements of brown baking spices sprinkled throughout the nose. Subtle oak flavors flutter on the palate with soft tones of crème brûlée and a balanced core of fruit with supporting acidity. Medium-bodied, the wine has commercial appeal and is a good buy for the price. It ends with a soft, lingering finish with subtle cinnamon nutmeg spices.
