The Cesari 2016 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Il Bosco (a blend of 80% Corvina and 20% Rondinella from a site with reddish marl soils) offers medium intensity and faded fruit aromas with dried rose, blackberry confit and baked plum. The wine shows an evolved character with smoky tar and spice at the back (with a 15.5% alcohol content). Some 30,000 bottles were released.

This fresh, supple red is elegant and harmonious, framed by fine tannins and offering a range of mulled cherry, black tea leaf and hot stone notes. Reveals hints of red licorice, milled white pepper and chopped rosemary. Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella. Drink now through 2028. 3,500 cases made, 500 cases imported.
