Ziereisen Pinot Gris Grauer Burgunder 2022 exhibits a varietal character with notes of green apple, pear, and subtle spice, typical of the Pinot Gris grape. Hailing from the Baden region of Germany, this wine showcases the area's unique terroir, offering a balanced acidity and a smooth finish that reflects the warm climate and mineral-rich soils.
For optimal enjoyment, serve this Pinot Gris chilled at around 50°F (10°C). It pairs well with seafood, light pasta dishes, and creamy cheeses, making it a versatile choice for a variety of occasions and meals.
The white-golden, pink-shimmering 2022 Grauer Burgunder opens with a clear, fine and elegantly aromatic, dense and fruity but also sur lie nose with notes of ground hazelnuts. The wine is full-bodied, dense and textured, quite intense yet very elegant and provided with fine tannins and fine, saline acidity, which gives a quiet and balanced flow over the palate as well as the long, intense and even quite complex finish. A stunning wine at this price point. This is probably the finest vintage Hanspeter Ziereisen has produced of this wine. 13% stated alcohol. Screw cap. Tasted at the domaine from lot L 07 24 in August 2024.
