The 2020 Chianti Classico Riserva is potent and brooding right out of the gate. A blast of dark cherry, plum, licorice, leather and incense adds to an impression of somber gravitas. Potent, muscular tannins wrap it all together. The 2020 is very good, but it requires considerable aeration.
