TAURASI RISERVA 'CINQUE QUERCE' by Salvatore Molettieri hails from the esteemed Tuscany region in Italy, exhibiting a complex flavor profile that includes dark fruit notes, hints of spice, and a well-structured tannin framework. This wine matures gracefully, showcasing a balanced acidity that enhances its rich and deep character.
Ideal food pairings include roasted red meats, hearty stews, and aged cheeses. Its robust flavors complement dishes like osso buco and wild game, making it a versatile choice for traditional Italian cuisine.
Beautiful aromas of lavender, rosemary and dark fruits follow through to a full body, round and velvety tannins and a flavorful finish. Rich and decadent. Big yet fresh style. Drink now.
Deep ruby-red. Aromas of strawberry, red cherry jam, juniper berries, black pepper and cinnamon on the slightly warm nose; a hint of volatile acidity adds freshness. Big, dense and rich, with multilayered flavors of red fruit, sweet spices and fresh herbs. Finishes long with mounting tannic bite. Don’t touch a bottle for another couple of years. Ages 48 months in barriques and large oak barrels. The 2009 growing season was marked by a few more rains than the 2010.
The 2009 Taurasi Riserva Vigna Cinque Querce is in an evolved state. It is redolent of cherry liqueur, Indian spice, leather and smoked bacon. Candied fruit, tar and campfire ash underline the age and oxidized personality of the wine. This is a near-term option that is drinking nicely at the moment.
