Sweet fruit, smooth, rich, lovely oak on the palate. There is plenty of ripeness here, yet the wine retains great freshness and drive. Complex, with sweetness of fruit matched by fine tannins, crisp acidity and refined oak. Good potential for further ageing.
A blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 7% Malbec, 5% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot, the 2015 Proprietary Red Elu displays a medium to deep garnet-purple color and a blackberry tart, red currant jelly, black cherry pie and mulberry-scented nose with hints of pencil shavings and cloves. The medium to full-bodied palate reveals soft, plush tannins and is packed with juicy fruit, finishing long with some peppery notes coming through.
