This wonderfully fragrant riesling has notes of lemon peel, peaches, persimmon and rosemary. The attractive fresh-herb character continues on the palate, which is medium-bodied yet packs in plenty of flavor. Very long. Drink or hold.
The 2022 Riesling Ried Gaisberg grows on a mix of amphibolite, gneiss and schist and is fermented and aged in large used barrels. Slight reduction still casts a fine, flinty spell on the nose. Underneath it, a whole world of citrus and stone fruit opens up. Apricot and nectarine juiciness blend with tangerine flesh and peel, creating immense animation and drive. Exquisite freshness is electric and dynamic, beautifully stony, taut and energetic. (Bone-dry)
