Certainly among the very best Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages wines I've ever tasted. It has the smoky, struck-match reduction that is often associated with certain Burgundian estates, but which works brilliantly with Rhône varieties, too. Linden, citrus and smoke on the nose, then an expansive palate where acidity, salinity and further smoke notes help to bring a sense of balance, before the long finish. A very dry, very stylish white Rhône.
