Showing a distinctive bouquet with cherry, dried raspberry, watermelon and sweet cucumber, this wine was released in March 2024. The Pian dell'Orino 2020 Rosso di Montalcino (with just 5,683 bottles produced) is an open-knit expression with a friendly and accessible side. It delivers balanced freshness against a firm structural backbone, and both contribute to the wine's general brightness and richness.

Grapes from the younger vines of the estate are wild-fermented and the wine aged in large casks for more than two years. Ripe, pure red cherry, very intense and singular on the nose with real definition and vivacity. A touch of oak adds a little creaminess and polish, but it's sensitively integrated. On the palate, some cumin, dried orange slices, a touch of grenadine, too. Long in the mouth, with some tannins. A concentrated and serious wine that will reward cellaring. Biodynamic.
