From a single plot in the Schönhell planted in 2006, the 2015 Spätburgunder Trocken "Frühernberg" has a dark color and opens with a toasty, beautifully pure and fresh bouquet of dark, perfectly ripe fruits (black berries, cassis, cherries) intermixed with floral aromas (licorice). Full-bodied, round and silky on the palate, this is a fine, finessed and fresh Pinot Noir with firm yet fine tannins along with more fresh oak tannins and flavors. It is still a bit drying due to the new oak, but it's lovely, concentrated and lush as well. This wine will improve over the years in the bottle.
