The NV Champagne Grand Cru Face Nord Brut displays a bright straw yellow color and is composed of 90% Pinot Noir and the rest Chardonnay, with 75% from 2022 and the remaining from reserve wine dating back to 2000. It’s aged 80% in stainless steel and 20% in a barrel. This very pretty wine has floral notes of ripe raspberries, a floral perfume, and cherry flavors that shine on the palate. It's medium-bodied but packed with focused intensity. Compact and sharp, it’s intense but not overwhelming. It features an approachable fruity core that lingers long on the palate, complemented by a lively mousse.
The 2004 Brut Millesime Grand Cru is quite possibly the best wine I have ever tasted from Pehu-Simonet. Bright Chardonnay notes of lemon peel, grapefruit, flowers and minerals dominate the profile of this vibrant, energetic Champagne. The Millesime Grand Cru is equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the villages of Mesnil and Verzenay, a combination that works brilliantly here. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2022.
