PAOLO SCAVINO, BAROLO 'MONVIGLIERO 750ML hails from the esteemed Piedmont region of Italy, renowned for its Nebbiolo grapes. This Barolo offers a complex flavor profile with notes of cherry, rose, and herbal undertones, accompanied by a firm tannic structure and a long finish.
Ideal food pairings include rich dishes such as braised lamb, truffle risotto, or aged cheeses. Its robust character complements hearty cuisine, enhancing the overall dining experience.
This wine shines with freshness and transparency, full of red currants, red cherries and intense violets against a meaty background. Lightly extracted and medium-bodied, showing crisp, brilliant acidity and velvety tannins. A touch of sternness in the tense, fragrant finish. Drinkable now but best from 2027.
Moving north to Verduno, the 2022 Barolo Monvigliero pours a bright ruby hue and remains slightly reserved at this stage, revealing aromas of preserved cranberries, white peach, candied orange, baking spice, ripe apricot, and dried earth. Medium-bodied, it has a more linear feel, with focused acidity and well-defined tannins. Citrus notes lift the palate and carry through a refined finish. Roughly 4,800 bottles were produced. Drink 2027-2040.
