The 2016 Pinot Noir Anderson Valley has a pale to medium ruby color and spicy notes of cinnamon, tree bark, dried cranberries, burnt orange peel and woodsmoke with a core of red and black berry fruit. The medium-bodied palate is elegant and nuanced with spicy character and a grainy, fresh frame, continuing to blossom on the long, detailed finish.
Long Meadow Ranch has three estates in Mayacamas, Rutherford and this cool, Pacific-influenced one in Anderson Valley which has 28ha planted to Burgundian varieties. This Pinot is silky and raspberry-rich with well-integrated oak, lively acidity and firm tannins. Dried cherry and floral aromas precede a liquorous, rich, ripe palate of good depth and balance, with lots of exotic spice intrigue.
