Kopke 50 Year Tawny Port hails from the prestigious Douro Valley in Portugal. This exquisite tawny port presents a complex flavor profile, featuring rich notes of caramel, nuts, dried fruits, and a hint of spice, all balanced by a velvety smooth texture and a long, warming finish.
Best enjoyed slightly chilled, Kopke 50 Year Tawny Port pairs well with artisan cheeses, desserts, or as a delightful standalone after-dinner drink. Use it in cocktails to add depth, or serve it in small glasses to savor the intricate flavors slowly.
Lovely deep red-tinged mahogany colour. Beautifully lifted and aromatic on the nose, just a touch of singed crocante with dried fruit, roasted chestnuts and toasted almonds. Wonderfully lithe, creamy-textured fruit on the palate, with greengage freshness plus the sweetness of an Elvas plum (160g/l residual sugar). Mesmerisingly persistent sugar and spice (and all things nice) on the finish. (RM)
Aged to the extreme, with superb intensity and layers of complexity, showing dates, caramel and persimmons as well as hints of raisins, peppery spices, licorice, milk chocolate and old books. Full-bodied and tangy yet sleek and concentrated on the palate, with an intense sweet finish that lingers more than a minute.
