The Hanzell Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a distinguished wine from California, showcasing a robust flavor profile characterized by dark fruits like blackberry and plum, complemented by notes of cocoa and spices. The wine is crafted from estate-grown grapes, reflecting the unique terroir of the region, which contributes to its exceptional depth and balance.
This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs well with hearty dishes such as grilled meats, rich stews, and sharp cheeses. It also complements dark chocolate desserts, enhancing the overall dining experience.

The blend is 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, 6% Malbec and 2% Petit Verdot. Though it's a blend of thick-skinned, heavier varieties here, the wine drinks very light. Hanzell sits at 340m in elevation, but the wines from this vineyard range in elevation from 150m to 350m, and that variance of elevation is apparent in the wine, with both forward-facing concentrations of stewed black and blue fruits as well as more subdued flavours and aromas of damp earth and petrichor. I would be excited to taste the evolution of this wine in five to seven years.
