Fermented in three fuders and bottled in August 2017, the 2016 Goldtröpfchen GG is a super aromatic, fresh and flinty on the slatey nose that reflects the deep, clayey slate terroir beautifully. Full-bodied, intense and powerful, with super ripe fruit and firm structure (even tannins), this is an intense and massive Riesling that needs some years to calm down and find its balance. Bottled with 2.5 grams of residual sugar and roughly 0.5% more alcohol than the Ohligsberger. Tasted March 2018.
