The Georg Breuer Spätburgunder Rouge is a remarkable red wine from Austria, known for its elegant expression of the Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) varietal. This wine presents a balanced flavor profile with notes of red berries, subtle earthiness, and a hint of spice, characteristic of the cooler climate of its Austrian origin.
This wine pairs well with a variety of dishes, including roasted poultry, grilled salmon, and mushroom risotto. Its versatility also makes it a suitable companion to light pastas and soft cheeses, enhancing the dining experience.
The 2022 Pinot Noir was picked exclusively from steep sites on quartzite and schist, from around 30 year-old-vines of French genetics. It was matured in barrique, tonneau, Viertel - and Halbstück , all used. Dark cherry and chocolate immediately announce some oak. The palate is lighter and brighter than the nose suggests, flowing with smooth, ripe red cherry and cream, edged with just a touch of chocolate and fur. Vivid juiciness and freshness frame the smooth, dense tannins. This is a lovely, slightly rustic Pinot Noir with wonderful drive. (Bone-dry)
The 2022 GB Rouge Pinot Noir is deep and smoky on the elegant nose that shows perfectly ripe sour cherry and dark berry aromas intertwined with toasty notes, intense and very delicate. Light, fresh and pure on the palate, this is a very elegant and finessed Pinot based on destemmed grapes sourced in Rüdesheim, Rauenthal and Lorch. 12% stated alcohol. Diam 10 cork. Tasted at the domaine in August 2024.
