This is a a big and rich zinfandel with lots of ripe fruit and spice with black pepper. Full and fresh. Juicy. Some heat at the end. Drink now.
The 2016 Zinfandel (containing 7% Petite Sirah) was aged for ten months in a combination of new French oak (33%) and new American oak (10%). Deep garnet-purple colored, it reveals baked blackberries, stewed plums, spice cake and Christmas pudding with touches of garrigue and tilled soil plus a waft of dried thyme. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and super spicy, it has a chewy frame and a lively finish culminating in a peppery kick. 1,700 cases produced.
