The 2015 Pinot Noir The Artist Upp Road Vineyard is pliant, succulent and inviting, with a good deal of freshness to play off the ripe red/purplish berry fruit. The 2015 was done with fully destemmed fruit, and yet it has a distinct floral/savory character that at times recalls whole clusters. This is an impressive showing for a parcel in just its fifth leaf. The clonal material here is 100% Calera.

Pale to medium ruby-purple in color, the 2015 Pinot Noir Upp Road Vineyard "The Artist" has fragrant notes of violets, chocolate-covered cherries and raspberry preserves with wafts of cinnamon stick and forest floor. The palate is light to medium-bodied with a lovely line of freshness cutting through the intense red berry and earth layers, finishing with a pleasant chewiness. Only 13 cases were made.
