The NV Brut Premier Cru Les Vignes de Vrigny is very pretty and nicely balanced throughout. Yellow stone fruit, apricot, mint, panna cotta and lightly tropical notes all meld together effortlessly. This is an especially supple, open-knit vintage for the Vignes de Vrigny, Egly-Ouriet's pure Meunier. In this release, the Vignes de Vrigny is mostly 2011 vintage, with reserve wines from 2010 and 2009. This is one of the very few base-2011 Champagnes that is worth an extra effort to find. Disgorged November 2015. Dosage is 2 grams per liter.

From sandy clay soils, the recent release of the NV Brut Premier Cru Les Vignes de Vrigny is a pure Pinot Meunier based on the 2013 harvest. The wine has a delicate bouquet and is very fine and silky on the palate. This is an elegant, perfectly round and delicate Vrigny with moderate pressure and mousse. The finish is clear, fresh and mineral. Tasted at the Trait d'Union in Vertus, April 2018. Disgorged in November 2017.
