The Domaine Georges Vernay Blonde de Seigneur is a rich Burgundy red wine known for its vibrant flavors of ripe red fruits, earthy undertones, and a subtle hint of spice. Sourced from the renowned Burgundy region in France, this wine showcases the region’s unique terroir and careful viticulture that result in a well-balanced and complex profile.
This wine pairs well with a variety of dishes, including roasted chicken, duck, and beef tenderloin. It also complements hearty pasta dishes, grilled vegetables, and cheese platters, making it a versatile choice for many culinary experiences.
More fresh and herbal than most 2019 Côte-Rôties, showing black olive and bay leaf. Fresh, only medium-bodied, it almost feels as if this was made in a cooler vintage. Vibrant, keen, with quite angular acidity and chiselled tannins. No evident oak, more about the whole bunch. This might be too lean for some, but traditionalists will love its bristling tannins and savoury finish. Lieux-dits Semon, Lancement and Maison Rouge, fermented in stainless steel with a small proportion of whole bunch, aged in barrels and Stockinger foudres.
A blend of grapes from Bassenon, Maison Rouge and Lancement, the 2019 Cote Rotie Blonde du Seigneur contains about 5% Viognier. Notes of violets and purple raspberries appear on the nose, joined by peppery spice and hints of licorice, while the palate is medium to full-bodied, silky and deep, with a long, mouthwatering finish that echoes of cherries and raspberries.
