Very attractive red-fruit nose with some floral notes and just a touch of smoky oak. An elegant wine for this appellation and you could easily mistake it for a Volnay. Very good depth, but also lovely freshness at the finish, which makes the tannins feel gentle. Long, elegant finish with a subtle, earthy touch. Albert Bichotâs Côtes de Beaune cellar is situated right next to this vineyard. Drink or hold.
From a 3.75ha monopole located on the southern border of the commune, near Volnay, whose wines this resembles. Yields were modest and despite picking on 17 September, the balance between ripe fruit and fresh acidity is lovely. There is a purple character to the high-toned raspberry fruit, with a silky, spice note within a texture that is velvety and fine.
