One of the highlights in this range, the 2006 Amour de Deutz is powerful and intense, but also quite elegant. Lemon confit, brioche, smoke, vanillin, chamomile, pastry and baked apple are some of the signatures. The 2006 is a bit more tightly wound than the 2007 tasted alongside it. Another year or more in bottle will surely help it soften further, but the 2006 is pretty special, even today. Disgorged: October 5, 2015.
The 2006 Amour de Deutz Brut Millésime is a bit reductive on the nose at the moment. On the palate, this is a round and elegant cuvée with ripe fruit aromas and a certain sweetness in the finish. It is well structured and concentrated, with a bigger body than 2008, but not its length and tension.
