Damilano Barolo Lecinquevigne is a distinguished red wine from the renowned Barolo region of Piedmont, Italy. This wine showcases a classic flavor profile with notes of dark cherry, plum, and hints of earthy undertones, complemented by robust tannins and a long, elegant finish.
Ideal food pairings for this Barolo include hearty dishes such as osso buco, braised lamb shanks, and rich pasta in red sauces. Additionally, it pairs well with aged cheeses and marinated mushrooms, making it a versatile choice for various culinary experiences.
This wine represents a blend of fruit from five MGA sites: Brunate, Liste, Cerequio, Cannubi and Raviole. The Damilano 2020 Barolo Lecinquevigne is a little too ripe in my opinion, with baked plum and cooked cherry. It starts off with moderate clarity, but it does take on more focus the longer the wine stays in the glass. You also get earthy tones of iris root and tea leaf. The wine is aged in large oak botti. This represents an ample production of 70,000 bottles.
