Decanter

Fragrant with floral pot pourri scents, black chocolate and cool blue cherry fruit. Smooth and succulent, an instant zing of acidity gives this life with mineral-edged tannins and plenty of strawberry and red berry juiciness on the finish. It's easy to drink but with depth and complexity in the touch of wet stone, bitter chocolate and slight toastiness that all add to the overall expression. Clean and focussed with freshness. Enjoyable.

The 2022 Puygueraud is beautifully done. Rose petal, blood orange, cinnamon and new leather give the 2022 lovely aromatic lift, something this wine has not always had. All the elements are very nicely balanced. I especially admire the wine's elegance. This is a gorgeous vintage for Puygueraud.

Wine Advocate

Notes of cassis, mulberries, lilac and iris preface the 2022 Puygueraud, a classic, elegant wine with a medium to full-bodied, round and juicy palate with good depth at the core, fresh, velvety tannins and a long, ethereal finish enhanced by chalky dry extracts. Less tannic and more charming than in previous years, this is a blend of 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc.
