CHATEAU LAGRANGE SAINT JULIEN is a distinguished red wine from the renowned Bordeaux wine region of France. It exhibits a complex flavor profile characterized by notes of dark fruit, subtle spice, and hints of oak, reflecting the unique terroir of Saint Julien.
This wine pairs excellently with rich dishes such as grilled lamb, beef Wellington, and duck confit. Additionally, it complements aged cheeses and hearty mushroom risottos, enhancing the dining experience with its depth and structure.
The 2015 Lagrange has a lovely, very finely delineated bouquet with blackberry, bilberry, cedar and light violet scents that err toward Margaux in style. The palate is medium-bodied with sapid black fruit. This is one of the few with finely chiselled tannins, dovetailing into a marine-tinged finish that is a joy. The 2015 is excellent. Tasted blind at the 2015 Bordeaux Ten-Year-On tasting at Farr Vintners.
Deep, rich, taut and tightly drawn, this is a big wine that demands attention and displays some real St-Julien balance. Excellent aromatics, although it's just a little short on the finish compared to the brilliant 2016 at this estate. Much to enjoy here. 55% new oak.
Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Lagrange gives up fragrant notes of chocolate-covered cherries, cassis and blackberry pie with touches of violets, forest floor, truffles and cigar box. Medium-bodied with plenty of intense black fruit and firm, grainy tannins, it has a racy line and long, mineral-laced finish.
