CHATEAU GASSIER 946 ROSE is a refined rosé wine hailing from the renowned Côtes de Provence region of France. It offers a balanced flavor profile, characterized by fresh red fruit notes, floral undertones, and a crisp acidity that enhances its refreshing quality.
This versatile rosé pairs well with a variety of dishes, including grilled seafood, light salads, and herb-infused chicken. It also complements Mediterranean cuisine, making it an excellent choice for al fresco dining and summer gatherings.
A partly barrel-fermented (in Austrian demi-muids) blend of Syrah, Grenache and Rolle, the 2018 Cotes de Provence Sainte Victoire 946 is a spicy, oaky wine, completely different in style from most Côtes de Provence rosés. But once you wrap your head around the style, it's an impressive effort, offering enough citrus, melon and peach flavors to support the wood. Just drink up, as I suspect with time the wood will dominate.
This rosé really does evoke aromas of plush velvet plums! The creaminess and velvet continues on the palate with ripe red fruit, juicy cranberries, floral notes, fresh leafiness, with some gentle salinity. The oak is still very dominant, but this is a wine with great ageing ability and long fresh acidity helped altitude and limestone soils. An outstanding rosé combining oaked structure, ripe fruit and beautiful saline purity.
