CHÂTEAU FOURCAS-BORIE, LISTRAC-MÉDOC is a red wine from the Bordeaux region of France, characterized by its rich and robust flavor profile. This wine typically features notes of dark fruits, such as blackcurrants and plums, complemented by subtle hints of oak and spice from aging, reflecting the terroir of Listrac-Médoc.
This wine pairs well with a variety of dishes, including grilled meats, hearty stews, and aged cheeses. It is an excellent accompaniment to lamb, beef, and duck, enhancing the meal with its structured tannins and balanced acidity.
A tight and juicy red with rust, black-fruit and iron character. Full-bodied, tight and focused and very beautiful. So delicious already. Drink in 2020.
Made by the same winemaking team as the top estate of Château Ducru-Beaucaillou in Saint-Julien, this wine comes from a long-time Borie family estate. The wine, with its layers of rich blackberry fruits and firm, dusty tannins, is concentrated, dark and certain to age well. Drink from 2025.
Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois annual tasting, the 2015 Chateau Fourcas-Borie has a lot of panache on the nose: high quality oak in evidence here but there is plenty of red and black fruit locked in behind. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, ripe black fruit, good grip in the mouth with a dense, well-balanced and convincing finish that attests to breeding and thoughtful winemaking. If Bruno Borie’s other wines are out of financial reach then reach for this splendid Listrac. Tasted September 2017.
