Chateau Fonplegade Saint Emilion Grand Cru 2014 is a distinguished red wine from the renowned Saint Emilion region of Bordeaux, France. This wine exhibits a rich flavor profile with notes of dark fruits, such as blackberry and plum, complemented by subtle hints of spice and earthy undertones. The tannins are well-integrated, providing a smooth mouthfeel and a balanced finish, characteristic of high-quality Bordeaux blends.
For optimal enjoyment, it is recommended to decant this wine for at least 30 minutes prior to serving to enhance its aromatic complexity. Serve it at a temperature of 16-18°C (60-65°F) alongside grilled meats, hearty stews, or rich cheeses to complement the wine's robust character.

Clearly deeper and richer than the 2013, and in fact as it opens up in the glass you see just how Fonplégade has started to get into its stride at this point, full flowing in energy and depth. Gourmet but with clear pulses of minerality. This has St Emilion character in that you feel the glamour and the contemporary appeal, but is also packed full of bright brambly fruit and has a real sense of energy. Fresh and mouth-watering on the finish - not a lot to complain about. 60% new oak, 25% one year and the rest in cement eggs.
