This is very perfumed with fresh flowers and sweet berries on the nose. It’s medium-bodied with creamy, polished tannins and a linear finish. Thought-provoking with finesse. Try after 2023.

I evidently underestimated the 2019 Fleur la Mothe when I reviewed it from bottle earlier this year, as the wine is performing outstandingly today. Offering up aromas of cassis, ripe berries, sweet soil tones and cigar wrapper, it's medium-bodied, fleshy and vibrant, with powdery tannins and an attractive core of fruit. A sleeper of the vintage, it offers a broad drinking window—and great value.
