Right off the bat this has richness and concentration, with peachy creaminess but without sacrificing tension and lift. It’s a fine example of what 2017 can deliver in the best whites. Should age very well.
The 2017 Carbonnieux is a dark, fleshy wine. Cedar, woodsmoke, tobacco, crème de cassis and incense are laced into a core of deep, plush fruit. Today, the 2017 is perhaps a bit burly and rough around the edges, but it is certainly not lacking in personality. Black cherry, chocolate, new leather and incense punctuate the potent finish.
