The 2019 Bettina Proprietary Red Wine includes some Cabernet Franc stems, as those whole bunches were gently crushed and layered into fermentation tanks with destemmed fruit. Scents of menthol and red berries swirl about, mixing effortlessly into seamless, intertwined threads of herbs and fruit. Boasting ample concentration, this full-bodied wine offers great intensity and length on the complex, harmonious finish.
Given its youth, it's not surprising that the nose remains closed, with black fruits lurking in the background. It's suave and velvety, but has a tannic backbone and an assertive, peppery finish. Although broad and opulent, this shows freshness, texture and excellent length. An overtly hedonistic style.
