The 2017 Grüner Veltliner Ried Berg Vogelsang displays an intense yellow color and a corresponding bouquet of super ripe/overripe fruit flavors and a—supposedly—not all too small percentage of botrytis. Round, smooth and elegant on the palate, with some nice bitterness on the finish, this is a generous and lush but still pure, refined and balanced Vogelsang at a moderate 12.5% alcohol. There is no hint of botrytis on the finish which is clear, fresh and straight. Tasted September 2018.
