Vinified in a one-year-old 50-hectoliter Stockinger vat, the 2020 Ried Spiegel 1ÖTW Grüner Veltliner offers a clear and elegant bouquet of ripe white fruits. Rich and intense on the palate, this is a round and slightly sweet, structured and sustainable wine with substance and body. Very intense and firmly structured. 13% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Tasted at the domaine in September 2022.
Bernhard Ott is a crusader for Grüner Veltliner and produces versions from different sites in Wagram. The Spiegel comes from stony loess soils. The nose is distinctly citric, with lime aromas. The attack is fresh and vibrant, again with citrus tones but also a hint of tropical fruit. The finish is tangy, mineral, and long.
