AZELIA BAROLO MARGHERIA is a distinguished red wine from the Barolo region of Piedmont, Italy. It showcases a classic flavor profile with notes of dark fruit, cherry, and subtle hints of earthiness, complemented by well-integrated tannins and a long finish. The wine benefits from the region's unique climate and soil, making it a true representation of Barolo craftsmanship.
This Barolo pairs beautifully with rich dishes such as braised meats, lamb, and game, as well as aged cheeses. It also complements hearty pasta dishes, making it a versatile choice for your next meal.
Hay and fresh thyme aromas signal this red, matched to flavors of cherry, cranberry, strawberry and rose. Lithe and elegant, with tremendous staying power and a beam of red fruit that persists. Best from 2030 through 2050.
The Scavino family owns almost two of Margheria’s 8ha and boasts vines that are upwards of 65 years old. Here, calcareous white clay with a substantial component of silt yields sturdily structured wines, yet Azelia’s example serves this up with an equal measure of refinement. The 2021 wafts with warm earth and currant blossom. Full and darkly fruited, it makes a strong and immediate tannic impact. But as commanding as the tannins are, they remain smooth in texture and are padded by a fleshy layer. The salty twisty is salivating. This will certainly benefit from a few years in the cellar.
