The 2019 Sauvignon Blanc Estate is composed of 94% Sauvignon Blanc and 6% Semillon. The nose features notes of fresh peaches and green guava with hints of struck match and honeysuckle, plus a waft of elderflower. Medium-bodied, elegant and refreshing, it coats the palate with stone and tropical fruit layers, with a long minerally finish.

Re-tasted in 2024 at the estate, this wine shows even more layers, energy, and expression than when first tasted several years ago. Orchard and stone fruits now dominate, with the youthful pithy grapefruit character having evolved into a more generous, ripe profile. Notes of straw, sage, and salty minerality add further complexity. Medium-bodied, with terrific acid grip and a lacy tension throughout. Just incredible. Ron and Susan Krausz purchased land on Howell Mountain in 1988, first planting vines in 1997. Today, winemaker and vineyard manager Sam Kaplan oversees all operations of this 2,325-square-metre winery and cellar. After 18 months of bottle ageing sur lie, this blend of 94% Sauvignon Blanc and 6% Sémillon spent 11 months ageing in concrete and new and used French oak.
