Inspired by the dry, white Bordeaux wines, thereâs just 2% barrel-fermented semillon here, offering a rich array of deep-set, tropical-fruit flavors and the oak is nicely integrated. The yields are lower, the fruit is ripe and the depth of flavor is a real highlight. Deep, citrus and tropical-fruit flavors with seriously silky textural appeal. Drink or hold.
The 2018 Sauvignon Blanc Dry Stack Vineyard, containing 2% Sémillon, was barrel fermented and aged six months in about one-third new oak. It opens with notions of gunflint and candle smoke, segueing to kiwi tart, peach, dried white flowers and a racy crushed-stone vein. It’s rounded and textural in the mouth, with a medium to full body, intense, savory-laced tropical fruits refreshed by juicy acidity and a long, savory finish. This is a ripe, rounded style anchored by freshness and minerality. 500 cases produced.
