Lime zest, subtle apricots and salt on the nose. The palate is incisive, with stone fruit that balances its austerity. Saline, taut and compelling in the distinctive way these wines often are. Slightly textured. Drink now or hold.
The 2024 Albariño Alma de Mar from a vineyard in Castrelo, Salnés, Rías Baixas that is right by the sea. Recently bottled, it is the only wine in the range to receive lees work. Fermented on lees, it opens with notes of anise, pear and white fruit, followed by a touch of custard, pastry, bread crust and rose petal. The palate is unctuous yet delicately fresh, with a smooth texture, creamy midpalate and saline finish. This is appealing, with an interesting flavor profile.
