Firm and chalky, this bursts with flavors of juicy raspberry, cherry and ripe green apple as well as notes of salted Marcona almond, pickled ginger, red licorice and spring blossoms. Well-spiced, with a lively, lasting finish. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Disgorged February 2024. Drink now. 100 cases imported.

Disgorged in April 2018, the latest release of Margaine's NV Brut Rosé is showing well, unfurling in the glass with a youthful bouquet of red berries, rhubarb, citrus oil and licorice. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, bright and sapid, with a youthfully frothy mousse, tangy acids and a sapid finish.

This is a lightly colored rosé, fresh as a red currant while having a tight texture of crisp acidity. It does need some bottle age to bring out the fuller fruit and ripe red berries. Drink this bottling from 2015, while Arnaud Margaine continues to improve the vineyards worked by the family for four generations.

The NV Brut Rosé is delicate, floral and lifted in style, with pretty citrus and star anise overtones that add a hint of exoticism. I would prefer to drink it over the next few years, as it is a touch faded. Chardonnay makes up most of the blend in Margaine's Rosé. Disgorged: October, 2016.
