The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Papa's Knoll emerges from a single block in the estate. It is the richest and most voluptuous of these wines, but it balances that fruit intensity with tons of energy. Ripe red cherry, blood orange, cinnamon, mint and star anise give the 2018 its decidedly exotic personality. Ripe and expressive, with soft tannins, the 2018 is an absolute joy to taste.

Very expressive, with a burst of plum, anise and dark licorice flavors, which drive through and hold their form thanks to a graphite spine. The long, focused finish has a fair amount of toast, but with the fruit to match. Drink now through 2029. 525 cases made.

Cut from the same cloth, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Papa's Knoll has a similar classic herbal Cabernet style, carrying plenty of smoked plum and darker currant fruits intermixed with notes of tobacco, damp earth, chocolate, and lead pencil. Playing in the medium to full-bodied end of the spectrum, it has supple tannins, a good sense of freshness, and a lengthy finish. It too should evolve nicely for 8-10 years, if not slightly longer.
