The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Vineyard is a very pretty, aromatic wine. Crushed flowers, mint, sweet spice, lavender and blood orange lend striking aromatic presence. Overall, this is a relatively restrained style for Mount Veeder. All the elements are very nicely balanced.

Aged 18 months in all new French oak, this is a powerfully built expression of the grape made by Jeff Ames. Grippy tannins dominate a slate of dark berry, cedar and sage, showing varietal expression as well as signatures of the mountain appellation. Enjoy best from 2027-2037.

More sappy, perfumed, and complex, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate has loads of mountain scrub brush, mint, and floral notes as well as medium to full body, a round, lush mouthfeel, good tannins, and outstanding length. The tannins are nicely managed, it has good freshness and just a balanced, enjoyable style, and I suspect it's going to evolve for 15 years if properly stored.
