The 2018 Barolo Bricco Fiasco reveals a dark and brooding character with dark fruit, iron ore, rusty earth, tar and licorice. It shows enormous precision and sharpness, especially in terms of the bouquet, with tight tannins and nice acidity.

Fragrant, with raspberry compote, hay, spice and rose aromas, this red starts out supple and ends sinewy and compact. The aftertaste lingers, echoing the berry fruit and adding a mineral element. Best from 2024 through 2039. 500 cases made, 165 cases imported.

The 2018 Barolo Bricco Fiasco is light, washed out and lacking in both depth and complexity. There is just not much here, sadly. Faded color and dried out fruit are impossible to look past.
