Sottimano Barbaresco Pajoré 2021

The 2021 Barbaresco Pajore is a wild, exotic wine that marries the intensity of the year with tons of classic structure. There's plenty of richness and body, but the Pajore is pretty shut down today, as it almost always is at this stage. Sage, lavender, menthol, licorice and a whole range of balsamic influences build into the potent, brooding finish.

"Here's a beautifully elegant and fine expression of Nebbiolo from Treiso. The Sottimano 2019 Barbaresco Pajoré shows an earthy personality with crushed stone and potting soil that frame a pretty core of red and purple fruits. I love the depth and complexity of this wine and the slightly more structured tannins that give this wine power and importance. Drink: 2024-2040.

Cherry, raspberry, earth and mineral aromas and flavors highlight this solidly built Barbaresco. Taut and dense yet refined, with a linear profile and excellent length. Best from 2027 through 2043. 600 cases made, 200 cases imported.
